Introductions

ISO 14001 Lead Auditor competency-based 5-day course teaches the principles and practices of effective Environmental Management System (EMS) process audits in accordance with the ISO 14001 standards. The experienced instructors guide participants through the entire audit process, from managing an audit program to reporting on audit results. Participants gain necessary auditing skills through a balance of formal classroom tutorials, practical role-playing, group workshops, and open forum discussions.


Course Objectives

By the end of the course students will be able to:

  • Understand the principles, concepts, and benefits of an Environmental Management System based on ISO 14001 Environmental Management System -Requirements
  • Understand the requirements of the ISO 14001 Standard in the context of an objective audit.       
  • Understand the purpose, content, and interrelationships of ISO 14001 with ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 standards
  • Have the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct second-party (Supplier/Vendor) or third-  party Environmental Management System audits
  • Facilitate and manage EMS audits performed by Accredited Certification Bodies or Registrars.

A written examination shall be given at the end of the course. Continuous assessment in the form of workshops and exercises shall be undertaken by participants during the duration of the course. Successful particpants who passed the written examination and continuous assessment shall be awarded with an accredited certificate.
